Scott Monument, built 1840-46, designed by George Meikle Kemp in Victorian Gothic style, on Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland. The monument serves as a memorial to Sir Walter Scott, 1771-1832, Scottish writer and poet, and is the largest monument to a writer in the world.
