Lion, funerary sculpture, limestone, Cypro-Archaic II period, mid 6th century BC, from Tamassos, in the Cyprus Museum, or Cyprus Archaeological Museum, founded 1882, in Nicosia, Cyprus. 3 lions and 2 sphinxes were excavated near the royal tombs in the ancient necropolis at Tamassos, with influences from Greece and Egypt.
