Lion attacking an ox, symbol of the power of the Zakarid princes, sculpture above the south portal of the Kathoghike or Main Church, built 1215 by brothers princes Zakare II Zakarian and Ivane I Zakarian, at Geghard monastery, or Geghardavank monastery, a medieval monastery complex of the Armenian Apostolic Church, founded 4th century AD by St Gregory the Illuminator, in Kotayk, Armenia.
