Colossal statue of Seti I, 2nd pharaoh of the 19th dynasty, New Kingdom, 1323-1279 BC, detail, alabaster, from Karnak, in the Luxor Museum, inaugurated 1975, in Luxor, Egypt. The head, torso and legs are made of separate pieces of alabaster, and precious stones would have been attached for the kilt, sporran, eyes, eyebrows and bracelets.
