Head of Emperor Claudius, 10 BC - 54 AD, Roman, marble, 1st century AD, from the schola of the Tarraco Collegium Fabrum, the seat of the corporation of building workers, in the Museu Nacional Arqueologic de Tarragona, in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. This portrait is idealised, and was carved shortly after his ascent to the throne in 41 AD.
