Statue of St Carmen Salles y Barangueras, 1848-1911, who decided to become a nun at Montserrat aged 10, on the Cami de Sant Miquel path at Santa Maria de Montserrat, a Benedictine abbey founded 1025 and rebuilt 19th century, on Montserrat mountain, Monistrol de Montserrat, Catalonia, Spain. The monastery houses the Basilica of Montserrat, built 16th century and rebuilt 19th century, cloister, refectory, museum, and the Mare de Deu sanctuary housing the Virgin of Montserrat statue.
