Detail of Patio de las Doncellas (Courtyard of the Maidens), Real Alcazar, Seville, Spain, pictured through an arch on December 26, 2006, in the morning. The upper storey of the Patio was built by Luis de Vega under the reign of Charles V, 1540-1572. The Real Alacazar was commissioned by Pedro I of Castile in 1364 to be built in the Mudejar style by Moorish craftsmen.
