Model by Knut Gransaetter of the Oseberg ship with decorative carving and coiled prow, 21.5x5.1m, discovered in a burial mound in Vestfold, Norway in 1904, in the Swedish History Museum, a history and archaeology museum founded 1866, in Stockholm, Sweden. The grave, c. 830, also contained the skeletons of 2 women, along with luxurious furniture, tools, a cart and decorative textiles. Picture by Manuel Cohen
