Gnisvard Ship Setting, a large boat shaped grave with standing stones forming the outline of a ship, late Bronze Age, 1100-400 BC, at Gnisvard, Tofta, on the island of Gotland, Sweden. 350 such graves have been found on Gotland. Cremated bones and grave goods were placed in an urn and positioned within or beside the grave. The ship setting is thought to represent the journey to the afterlife. Picture by Manuel Cohen
