Ship, Viking Museum Haithabu, Hedeby, Germany
Haithabu 1 or Hedeby 1, a Viking longship excavated from Hedeby harbour 1953-79 and housed in the Viking Museum Haithabu or Hedeby Viking Museum, featuring 7 reconstructed longhouses, near Hedeby, Busdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (formerly part of Denmark until 1864). The skeid style longship was built in Haithabu in the 10th century, probably for the king, and would have held up to 62 rowers. The site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
