Skaill House, a mansion built 17th century, at the Bay of Skaill, beside Skara Brae, on Mainland, Orkney, Scotland. The house was built in 1620 by George Graham, bishop of Orkney, and the 7th laird of Breckness excavated Skara Brae in 1850. The house remains in the family, open to visitors to Skara Brae. Skara Brae is a Neolithic village occupied 3180-2500 BC consisting of 9 stone houses and a workshop, linked by passages. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
