Demonstration of the solar oven principle at the Four Solaire Mont-Louis or Mont-Louis Solar Furnace, at Mont-Louis, Pyrenees-Orientales, France. The main furnace was built with 1420 mirrors in 1949 by Felix Trombe and commissioned 1951, and was the world's first solar furnace. It is a double-reflection solar furnace with heliostat and concentrator focusing sun rays onto a focal point, creating temperatures of 2000-3500C. Picture by Manuel Cohen
