Avenue of ram headed sphinxes leading to the main entrance at the 1st Pylon, built by Nectanebo, 380-362 BC, uncompleted and undecorated, at the Karnak Temple Complex, Karnak, Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. The sphinxes have ram heads and hold statuettes of pharaohs holding ankhs. The site was developed c. 2055 BC - 100 AD, from the Middle Kingdom to the Ptolemaic Kingdom and most of the buildings date to the New Kingdom, dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu.
