St Genevieve is beaten by her mother who will not allow her to attend church, her mother is struck blind but is cured 18 months later through the prayers of her daughter, stained glass window, by Alfred Gerente, 1821-68, after designs by Steinhel, depicting the Legend of St Genevieve, patron saint of Paris, in the cloister, rebuilt 1845-50 in Neo Gothic style during restoration by Lassus and Viollet-le-Duc, at the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, or Notre-Dame cathedral, built 1163-1345 in French Gothic style, on the Ile de la Cite in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France.
