Facade of Surb Grigor Lusavorich or St Gregory the Illuminator Church, built 1237-41 by prince Grigor-Tkha, at Goshavank, a medieval monastery founded 12th century, at Gosh, Tavush, Armenia. On the left is the Aseghnagorts khachkar, an Armenian cross-stone, 1291, by Pavgos, with intricate needlecarved carving around a cross and rosette. The Armenian Apostolic Church monastery houses several churches, a school, bell tower and book depository, and is named after Mkhitar Gosh who helped build it. Picture by Manuel Cohen
