St Theodora's Trion Church, Derinkuyu, Cappadocia, Turkey
Nave and apse of St Theodora's Trion Church, or Aziz Theodoros Trion Kilisesi, a Greek Orthodox christian monastery church, built 1858, in Derinkuyu, Nevsehir, Cappadocia, Turkey. In the nave are 4 columns with capitals supporting arches, and cross shaped windows. The church was built by Ottoman architect Kiriako Papadopoulos Efendi under sultan Abdulmecid for Greeks living in the region after the Reform Edict of 1856 and is known as the Grape Church or Uzumlu Kilise after reliefs and paintings of grapes in its decoration.
