Standing stones at the Ring of Brodgar, a neolithic henge (ring-shaped bank and ditch), stone circle and burial mounds, c. 2500-2000 BC, near Stromness on Mainland, Orkney, Scotland. 27 of the 60 original stones remain standing and they are thought to have served a ritual purpose.
