Statue of Anacaona, a Taino chief, 1474-1503, one of the most important chiefs on the island at the time of the Spanish invasion, in the grounds of the Fortaleza San Luis, a fort built in the 19th century and site of several battles during the War of Restoration, in Santiago de los Caballeros, known as Santiago, Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean.
