Monument to Pope John Paul II, depicting the pope wearing papal vestments with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, raising his hand in blessing, by Francisco Cardenas Martinez, inaugurated 2007, outside Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral, on Plaza de la Contitucion, Mexico City, Mexico. The bronze statue was made from over 7 million keys donated by Mexicans and commemorates the pope's visit to Mexico in 1979. The area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
