Carved stone stela, with a soldier on horseback and a female figure, in the Solunto Museum at the archaeological site of Solunto, in Sicily, Italy. The Phoenician village of Solunto was expanded by the Greeks after 396 BC and again by the Romans after 254 BC. It was abandoned soon after and rediscovered by archaeologists in the 16th century.
