Stoa (right), a large covered public portico building, with 27 rectangular rooms from the Hellenistic period fronted by a Roman era corinthian columned gallery, 132m long, on an east-west axis, 1st - 2nd century AD, at Knidos, Mugla, Caria, Turkey. On the left are the ruins of Church C, built from the ruins of the Temple of Dionysos, and behind, the small military harbour or northern harbour. Knidos was an ancient Dorian Greek Hellenistic city which was also settled by the Persians, Romans and was Byzantine from 5th century. Picture by Manuel Cohen
