Stone ship, a burial monument for a wealthy Viking made with granite slabs, reconstructed with concrete, at Jelling Royal Necropolis, a Viking royal burial site at Jelling, Vejle, Jutland, Denmark. At over 350m long, this is the largest known ship setting. Behind is the Palisade monument, erected 2013, marking the site of an ancient kite-shaped stockade surrounding and protecting the royal burial ground, 1440m long and over 3m high. The site also contains 2 10th century Viking burial mounds, 2 runestones erected by Harald Bluetooth and king Gorm, and a medieval church built over the Viking church.
