Teatro Massimo, with sculptures, obelisks and a unicorn statue, in the Italianate gardens on Isola Bella, aerial view, in the Isole Borromee or Borromean Islands, on Lake Maggiore, Piedmont, Italy. The island houses the Palazzo Borromeo, begun 1632, designed by Angelo Crivelli, for Carlo III Borromeo and his wife Isabella D'Adda, then completed by Carlo Fontana for Giberto III Borromeo and Vitaliano VI Borromeo.
