Temple of Apollo, Corinth, Greece
Temple of Apollo, an archaic Greek Doric temple built c. 650 BC in the reign of the tyrant Cypselos, in Corinth, Peloponnese, Greece. The temple originally consisted of 42 limestone columns forming the opteron, enclosing the antechamber, cella and opistodomos. Corinth, founded in Neolithic times, was a major ancient Greek city until it was razed by the Romans in 146 BC. Picture by Manuel Cohen
