Temple of Neptune, or Second Temple of Hera, built c. 460-450 BC in Doric style, and in the foreground, the water clock, a large building with marble slab floor containing 3 basins filled with water, connected by channels, used to measure the passage of time through the flow of water, at Paestum, an ancient Greek city founded c. 600 BC in Magna Grecia, in Salerno, Campania, Italy. Paestum was founded by the Greeks as Poiseidonia then seized by the Lucanians and Romans from 273 BC. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
