Temple of Peace, built by the Romans in honour of the goddess Mens Bona, personification of thought and consciousness, with Doric frieze and altar, at Paestum, an ancient Greek city founded c. 600 BC in Magna Grecia, in Salerno, Campania, Italy. Paestum was founded by the Greeks as Poiseidonia then seized by the Lucanians and Romans from 273 BC. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
