Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, Kom Ombo, Egypt
First hypostyle hall (left) with 10 lotus columns, at the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, a double temple to both Sobek, crocodile god of fertility, and Haroeris, Horus the Elder, built 180-47 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty, and altered in Roman times, at Kom Ombo, Aswan Governate, Egypt. In front is the main court with 16 columns decorated with bas-reliefs, and a central granite altar, with pronaos or screen wall behind, with 5 lotus columns. Picture by Manuel Cohen
