Village of Ternant, Nievre, Burgundy, France, which houses two 15th century carved, gilded and painted altarpieces in its Eglise de Saint-Roch. The Altarpiece of the Passion, late 15th century, was commissioned by Charles de Ternant and displays scenes of the Passion and Glorification of Christ, and the Altarpiece of the Virgin, 1430-40, was commissioned by Philippe de Ternant and his wife Isabeau de Roye and displays 7 scenes of the Life of the Virgin.
