Tomb of Enrico Scrovegni, with sepulchral sculpture of his effigy in an open sarcophagus, 1340s, by Master of the Scrovegni and Salomone Tombs, and beneath, marble statues of Madonna and child with 2 angel candle bearers, 1305-6, by Giovanni Pisano, c. 1250-1315, in the Cappella degli Scrovegni, or Scrovegni Chapel, at the Monastero degli Eremitani, in Padua, Veneto, Italy. The chapel was built by Enrico Scrovegni as a private oratory and funerary monument, consecrated 1303, containing a fresco cycle, 1303-9, by Giotto di Bondone, c. 1267-1337.
