Tomb entrances, Monterozzi necropolis, Tarquinia
Path leading to the Etruscan tombs, with access buildings corresponding to tumuli marking the larger underground funerary chambers, at the Monterozzi Etruscan necropolis near Tarquinia, Vitero, Lazio, Italy. The necropolis was founded in the 7th century BC and contains around 6000 graves, many of which are covered in frescos. Monterozzi is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
