Gisant du cardinal de La Grange, dit Lou Transi (transient sculpture of his naked dead body), from the tomb of Jean de Lagrange, 1325-1402, prelate, politician and cardinal, wearing liturgical vestments, from his tomb in Room 2 of the Musee du Petit Palais, an art museum opened 1976, housed in the bishops residence, built 1318-20 and rebuilt 15th century, on the Place du Palais des Papes, Avignon, Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur, France. The tomb is a transient or cadaver tomb, whereas his bones are buried in Amiens cathedral. The building is part of the old town UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
