Tomb of Sennedjem, Deir el-Medina, Egypt
Mud brick pyramid at the entrance to the Tomb of Sennedjem, TT1, burial place of Sennedjem, an official and artist, and his family, 19th Dynasty, 13th century BC, at Deir el-Medina, site of the workers village for artisans building the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, 18th - 20th dynasties, New Kingdom, at the Theban Necropolis, Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. The village contained 68 houses along a central road. The site was excavated by Ernesto Schiaparelli 1905-9 and Bernard Bruyere 1922-51. Thebes is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
