Tordera Desalination Plant, Blanes, Catalonia, Spain
Large Desalination Room, with reverse osmosis membrane racks, high pressure pumps and Pelton turbines, at Tordera Desalination Plant, built 2002, near Blanes, on the Costa Brava, Catalonia, Spain. Water is pumped from the sea through an underground pipe to the Tordera Desalination Plant, which desalinates the seawater and supplements the drinking water supply of the Selva region, reducing impact on the natural aquifer.
