Tour Magne, originally Turris Magna or Great Tower, a section of the monumental Roman ramparts built late 1st century BC under emperor Augustus, in Nimes, Gard, Occitanie, France. There were originally 80 such towers in the Roman walls, protecting the sanctuary and the city. Picture by Manuel Cohen
