Tour Saint-Nicolas and Tour de la Chaine, La Rochelle

The Tour Saint-Nicolas was built 1345-76, as a gateway to the harbour. The Tour de la Chaine was built 1384 and had a chain stretched across the harbour entrance to block ships.
