Tower of the Winds, an octagonal marble tower which is a water clock, sundial, and weathervane, 2nd - 1st century BC by Andronicus of Cyrrhus, a Macedonian astronomer, in the Roman Agora, Athens, Greece. The frieze around the tower depicts the 8 wind directions. The Roman Agora is an area built in the 1st century BC during the reigns of Julius Ceasar and Ceasar Augustus and used as a commercial, assembly, or residential gathering place.
