Town Hall or Palazzo Ducezio, Noto, Sicily, Italy

Noto Town Hall, the Palazzo Ducezio, designed by Vincenzo Sinatra in 1746 and completed in 1830, and the second floor was built in the 20th century by Francesco La Grassa, Noto, Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. The convex facade features arches supported by columns with Ionic capitals in the lower section, and 13 windows above. The Palazzo Ducezio is named after Ducezio, King of the Sicilians from 460-450 BC and founder of Noto. Much of Noto was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693 and the Sicilian Baroque style is therefore prevalent. Noto is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
