Royal tombs (left), Urn tomb (right), 1st century AD, Petra, Ma'an, Jordan. These Royal tombs were carved by the Nabateans in the face of Jabal al-Khubtha, the mountain overlooking Petra on the East. The Urn tomb was probably built c. 70 AD for King Malichos II and was converted to a Christan church in 446-7 AD. It is also known as The Court as it was used as a courthouse in Roman times.
