Valley of the Kings, Egypt
Valley of the Kings, containing the rock-cut tombs of pharaohs and nobles, 18th - 20th dynasties, New Kingdom, c. 16th-12th century BC, in the Theban Necropolis, Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. The site contains at least 65 tombs and chambers, in the West Valley and East Valley. In the centre is El Qurn, or The Horn, a pyramidal mountain in the Theban hills, above the Valley of the Kings.
