Arsenale di Venezia or Venetian Arsenal, consisting of shipyards and armouries buildings, forming the historic base of the Venetian navy and maritime trade industry, in Venice, Italy. On the left is the Main Gate or Porta Magna, built c. 1460 in Classical Revival style by Antonio Gambello from a design by Jacopo Bellini. 2 Greek lions were positioned here in 1687.
