Medieval fortified hilltop village of Viens, aerial view, seen on a hike to the nearby rock slab with fossilised mammal footprints, in the Luberon massif, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. On the left is the Chateau de Viens, built 12th - 13th century. The rock slabs at Viens were formed from a lake bed 30 million years ago in the Cenozoic era, and were discovered in 1968.
