Viking cup, National Museum of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark
Bronze cup with grass lid, holding a fatty substance, originally from Central Asia, from a Viking grave thought to be of a seeress at the Fyrkat ring fortress, Hobro, Denmark, in the National Museum of Denmark, or Nationalmuseet, Copenhagen, Denmark. The woman's grave contained the remains of the woman in fine royal clothes, with a horse drawn carriage, goods from foreign lands, silver toe rings, bronze bowls, a staff (possibly a magic volva's staff) and poisonous plants associated with magic and fortune telling.
