Model of the Oseberg ship, excavated from a burial mound at Slagen, Vestfold, in 1904, at the Bergen Maritime Museum, in Bergen, Vestland, Norway. The Oseberg Ship or Osebergskipet is a karve type clinker built ship in oak, built c. 815-820 AD, then buried as grave goods in the burial mound of a wealthy woman.
