Viking ship reconstruction, Viking Ship Museum, Roskilde

New reconstruction of Roar Ege, built 2016, after the original built 1984 was retired on land, after Skuldelev 3, a small trading and transport ship, byrding type, with sail and oars, built in Denmark with 2 decks and a central open hold, for a crew of 5-8, c. 1040, in the harbour at the Viking Ship Museum, or Vikingeskibsmuseet, a maritime history and archaeology museum for prehistoric and medieval ships, at Roskilde, on the island of Zealand, Denmark. 5 Skuldelev ships were excavated from the water at Peberrenden, Skuldelev, in 1962.
