Viking ice skates made from bones, in the Gotland Museum, founded 1875 by the Friends of Gotland's Antiquity Society, in Visby, on the island of Gotland, Sweden. Skates were made from split bones of horses or cattle and tied to shoes using a leather thong. Picture by Manuel Cohen
