Visigoth carved limestone capital in the Alcazaba Museum, Almeria, Andalusia, Southern Spain. After Roman rule ended, Almeria was taken over by the Visigoths for a period, as well as the Byzantines and the Vandals. The Alcazaba is a 10th century fortified enclosure and royal residence, begun in 955 by Rahman III and completed by Hayran, Taifa king of Almeria, in the 11th century.
