Cardini - Magician (Richard Valentine Pitchford) (1895-1973). Born and raised in Britain (and having served in the British Army in WW1), he worked chiefly in the United States of America, achieving fame combining magic with a very entertaining stage performance, setting the template for many magicians and conjurors in the following decades
