Soldiers and sailors enjoying some lively entertainment at the busy Aldwych Rest Hut, Christmas 1916. Gifts of pipes, tobacco, cigarettes and sweets were distributed at the Christmas during the evening. YMCA rest huts in London provided rest, food, accommodation and entertainment for troops on leave in the capital during the First World War
