Coffin for tomb of unknown warrior
The coffin in which the body of the unknown warrior lay. It was made from English oak and had wrought-iron handles - three on each side, and a metal plate, with sword and shield on top. The coffin was pictured reposing on an embroidered pall presented at the beginning of 1919 by the Actors Church Union
