James Griffiths
James Jim Griffiths, Labour M.P. for Llanelli, Wales from 1936 to 1970. Pictured here before the 1950 election, he had served in the 1945 - 50 Labour Government as Minister for National Insurance, a key role in the creation of the Welfare State. Following Labour victory in the February 1950 election he served as Secretary of State for the Colonies
